Israel’s SpaceIL to launch Beresheet-2 moon landing project in 2024.
About
The original Beresheet, Hebrew for "Genesis", was a tall, 585-kilogram spacecraft built by Israel.
It had reached the moon in April 2019, but suffered an engine failure as it prepared to land.
Beresheet 2 will be comprised of three adjacent spacecrafts - an orbiter and two landers which are expected to land at two sites on the moon for conducting scientific experiments.
The entire spacecraft is expected to weigh about 630 kg.
Note: Only Russia, the United States and China have made the 384,000-kilometre (239,000-mile) journey and landed safely on the Moon.
