• The Prime Minister of India inaugurated the DefExpo22 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
  • PM inaugurated the DefExpo22 under the theme 'Path to Pride'.
• PM revealed HTT-40; the indigenous trainer aircraft designed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
• He launched Mission DefSpace and laid the foundation stone of Deesa airfield in Gujarat.
• This was the first defense expo where only Indian companies participated and exhibited only Made in India equipment.
• More than 1300 exhibitors participated, including the Defense Industry, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and more than 100 startups.
• The 2nd India-Africa Defense Dialogue was also held on this occasion, the Prime Minister of India highlighted that “This relationship between India and Africa is based on time-tested trust that is further deepening and touching new dimensions with time”.
• The 2nd Indian Ocean Region+ (IOR+) Conclave to be held during the Expo, will promote defense cooperation amongst IOR+ nations to foster peace, growth, stability and prosperity.
• The Prime Minister highlighted that the armies have finalized a list of 101 items which will be bought only under the “Make in India’.
