About LeadIT

  • The Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT) was launched by the prime ministers of Sweden and India with support from the World Economic Forum (WEF) during the UN Secretary-General’s Climate Action Summit on 23 September 2019, in New York.
  • The Leadership Group for Industry Transition (LeadIT) gathers countries and companies that are committed to action to achieve the Paris Agreement.
  • LeadIT members subscribe to the notion that energy-intensive industries can and must progress on low-carbon pathways, aiming to achieve net-zero carbon emissions.
  • Representatives from Sweden, India, and the World Economic Forum make up LeadIT’s Management Board.
  • A Technical and Expert Committee, made up of LeadIT member representatives, advises the Board.
  • The Board approves new members and decides on the work plan of the Secretariat.
  • The LeadIT Secretariat is responsible for managing the work of the Leadership Group and is hosted by Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI).
