Genus and Species Information

Pedicularis revealiana belongs to the genus Pedicularis, commonly known as lousewort or Indian warrior.
The genus Pedicularis includes about 677 species worldwide, with 82 species, 13 subspecies, and nine varieties reported in India.
Pedicularis revealiana is the 83rd species reported by botanists.

Distinctive Characteristics

Unique among all Pedicularis species.
It has stout and woody stems and bears minute flowers of pinkish-purple color.
Classified as a hemiparasitic plant species, it can gather nutrients from the roots of nearby trees and plants while also making its own food.
