Ruchira Kamboj has been appointed as the next Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations.
- She is currently serving as the Indian ambassador to Bhutan.
The Ministry of External Affairs has announced that She will succeed T S Tirumurti as the next Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations.
She joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1987.
Earlier she was appointed as;
- The Permanent Representative of India to UNESCO in Paris.
- Indian High Commissioner in South Africa.
- Counsellor at India’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations.
She dealt with various political issues, including UN Peacekeeping, UN Security Council Reform, the Middle East crisis etc.
