Context - The Union Government has constituted a committee to investigate the Ramban Tunnel Collapse.

Details

The Union Government has constituted 3 member committee to investigate the reasons for the collapse of a part of an under-construction tunnel in Ramban on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.
- Professor J.T. Sahu of the IIT, Delhi will be the chairman of the committee, and it will submit the report within 10 days.
National Highways Authority of India has also initiated a process to handle such emergencies and is taking every possible measure to avoid such incidents in future.
The area is also prone to frequent landslides.
