Context: The Veer Gatha Project 3.0 is an initiative aimed at spreading awareness about the courageous deeds of Gallantry Awardees and sharing their life stories with school students. The project's objectives include instilling a sense of patriotism and civic values in the hearts of young people.

Key Highlights

• Project Veer Gatha was initiated under the Gallantry Awards Portal (GAP) in 2021 with the primary goal of raising awareness about the brave actions of Gallantry Awardees and sharing their life stories with students. It aims to inspire patriotism and civic values among the youth.
• The Ministry of Defence, through its field organizations in the Army, Navy, and Air Force, organized both virtual and face-to-face awareness programs and sessions for schools across the country. These programs aimed to educate students about the Gallantry Award Winners of India.
• In the 3rd edition of the Veer Gatha Project (Veer Gatha Project 3.0), an impressive 1.36 crore (13.6 million) school students from 36 states and union territories across India participated. They contributed through various forms of creative expression, such as poems, paintings, essays, videos, and more, as a way to pay tribute to the courageous acts of Armed Forces personnel.
• In the current edition, Veer Gatha Project 3.0, 100 winners known as the "Super 100" will be selected at the national level. They will be jointly felicitated by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Defence in New Delhi and will each receive a cash prize of Rs. 10,000.
• In addition to the national-level winners, there will also be winners at the district level (04 winners) and State/UT level (08 winners). These individuals will be honoured by their respective districts and States/UTs for their contributions.
